Who is Amber?

Amber didn’t always know she would be an educator. However, with both the influences of phenomenal teachers and the missteps of others, she knew her calling could be nothing else.

we all are.

Growing up in suburban New Jersey as a young Black girl, Amber knew that society would always see her as other. She knew every part of her would be dissected to a point of obscurity and even still she found solace in the understanding that the only way to overcome was to be her best self. Amber graduated from Seton Hall University with both a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and a Master’s of Art in Instructional Design and Technology. She has served as a member of the National Education Association’s Board of Directors as well as a member of the New Jersey Education Association’s Board of Directors. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Currently, Amber is an Elementary English as a Second Language Teacher in a small urban school district in New Jersey, where she continues her passion for education and advocacy.
